Luohu calls for the care of the aged living alone during epidemic prevention and control
The Luohu authorities have issued a proposal calling on residents to pay special attention to the care of the elderly people, who are more susceptible to illness caused by COVID-19 infections.
They call on medical staff, community workers, and social workers to work closely with enterprises, social organizations, and volunteers to serve the urgent needs of senior residents, especially those living alone.
In addition, door-to-door services, green channels for access to public services, and barrier-free nucleic acid testing should be provided for them.
Finally, all stakeholders should try to raise the senior citizens’ awareness of the necessity of getting vaccinated.
At present, the storage and supply of food and daily necessities in Luohu for local residents are ample and efficient. The district will continue to work closely with relevant enterprises to ensure that supplies remain sustained in the foreseeable future and minimize the epidemic prevention and control’s influences on people’s livelihoods.
The Luohu district government has also launched multiple 24-hour hotlines to help local residents in quarantine resolve their urgent problems.
