Luohu rolls out measures to boost AI development
At the 26th China Hi-Tech Fair, innovative achievements and applications in industries like artificial intelligence (AI) garnered significant attention.
From smart cities to factory information management, intelligent quality control, smart payment systems, energy management, and content creation, AI applications are expanding rapidly across various sectors. The "AI+" trend is increasingly integrating into industries across the board. To support enterprises in achieving high-quality growth, Luohu District organized a series of events during the fair, providing insights into AI industry policies, compliance, and international business expansion.
According to a representative from the Luohu District Science and Industry Information Bureau, the district has been working this year to optimize the business environment for the AI industry through innovation sourcing, policy support, and platform building. Luohu has created a strong foundation for scaling up the next-generation AI industry. In August, the district released the Action Plan for Promoting AI Development, focusing on industry clustering, application implementation, and improving fundamental support systems. Additionally, the Ten Measures to Promote AI Development were introduced, emphasizing innovation, collaboration, and openness to nurture and support AI startups, high-potential companies, and industry leaders.
To accelerate the application of innovative AI solutions, Luohu recently unveiled its first batch of 49 AI application scenarios across 19 sectors, including urban governance, healthcare, and industrial development. These scenarios also address market-driven needs in finance, commerce, and over ten other industries. The district has categorized and prioritized projects based on scenario maturity, with 11 AI application projects set to take the lead in implementation.
Zhang Hao, Director of the Innovation Development Department at the South China Branch of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, highlighted Luohu District's advantages. As Shenzhen's earliest developed district, Luohu excels in public services, particularly in education and healthcare, making it well-suited for scalable and actionable AI applications. Its robust service sector, especially in finance and jewelry, also provides a solid foundation for integrating AI technologies and large models.
Moving forward, Luohu will continue to enhance innovation platforms and empower businesses. The district plans to accelerate the development of AI supply-demand platforms, release more government-side application demands, and encourage enterprises to showcase their large-model capabilities or propose AI application needs. By strengthening ties with universities, Luohu will explore industry-academia-research collaborations and provide professional talent support for enterprises, fostering deeper integration of AI into its thriving industries.
