Walmart (Shenzhen)
Walmart entered China in 1996, opening its first shopping plaza and Sam’s Club in Shenzhen. It employs about 100,000 people in China, and operates more than 400 shopping malls in over 180 cities. It cooperates with more than 7,000 Chinese suppliers, and over 95 percent of its sales are local commodities. It plans to open another four Sam’s Clubs and 18 shopping malls in Shenzhen in five years.
