Shenzhen confers honors on foreign-invested companies
Shenzhen recently conferred honorary titles on more than 400 foreign-funded enterprises operating in the city.
The evaluation was based on a joint program conducted by the city government and third-party research agencies, involving analysis of each company’s performance last year in paying tax, creating jobs, maintaining good labor relations and work safety, emissions reduction, and environmental protection.
In 2021, nearly 6,000 foreign-invested enterprises were established in Shenzhen, with a year-on-year growth of over 30%. The actual use of foreign capital exceeded $10 billion, a year-on-year increase of over 20% and a record high.
In the first half of 2022, the actual utilization of foreign capital in Shenzhen was about $5.8 billion, an increase of about 11% year-on-year. So far, Shenzhen has brought together enterprises from more than 160 countries or regions around the world, including nearly 300 world top-500 enterprises, and approved more than 100,000 foreign direct investment projects in total.
With this year's implementation of the Regulations on Foreign Investment in the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, as well as the introduction of a number of relevant supporting policies to stabilize foreign investment and promote innovative investment, Shenzhen ushers in new historical development opportunities and a good business environment for foreign companies, talents, and projects.
